Offering a charming and intimate insider’s view of everyday life in the director’s hometown in a time of transition, this Tibetan dramatic feature was filmed on location in the Tibetan village of Amdo, now Qinghai province. The film follows a young lama assigned for Tibetan New Year as attendant to a seven-year-old Living Buddha of a mountain monastery.
