SuperFood for breakfast.

After getting home at about 9 last night, I was seriously lacking in the creative lunch-making/energy department. I’ll be back with more lunchbox grains once my brain is back in action.

Plus, lunch was due for a break because I tell ya—breakfast was getting kind of jealous.

And for those who wondered—I randomly come up with my meals based on what I have in my pantry/fridge. I usually pick a general meal category (sweet, spicy, Mexican, Indian-inspired) and then I browse in my kitchen and let myself be inspired by the food. <—oh, isn’t sight such a wonderful thing?

I always try to add a nice variety of colors (more colors=more nutrients) and I usually base my meal around one main ingredient (tofu, tempeh, beans, grains, veggies).

I picked up this trait from my Dad. Growing up, we’d all complain that “there’s absolutely no food in the house,” and he would still whip up some fabulous (and creative) meal.

Lately, my breakfasts have involved a new product: Amazing Grass Green SuperFood Drink Cacao Chocolate. I’ve tried Amazing Grass products before, but this is my first time trying the Superfood Cacao Chocolate drink mix.

Anthony from Swanson Health Products was generous enough to send me a few different products to review. Of course, I immediately dug into the Amazing Grass! Chocolate + Superfood? What’s not to like?

What better way to try out the chocolate powder then to add it to some overnight chia oats?

Amazing Grass Overnight Chia Oats

  • 1 scoop Amazing Grass Chocolate Drink Powder
  • 1 scoop Sun Warrior Vanilla Protein
  • 1 T. chia seeds
  • 1 C. coconut milk

Mix it all up and stick it the fridge for morning.

In the morning, I simply added 1/4 C. frozen blueberries + cinnamon + almond milk and breakfast was ready for eating!

This product gets an enthusiastic thumbs-up. It has a slightly sweet, yet subtle chocolate flavor and it could easily pass as a simple chocolate drink powder. <—the kicker? It’s amazingly (pun intended) healthy for you.

The perfect way to eat your chocolate and get your veggies, too.

Would I buy this powder myself? Most definitely. This will be a perfect addition to smoothies, oats, Greek yogurt…etc. I can’t wait to see what Adam thinks!
