Make friends with a whale at Mystic Aquarium, I-95 Exit 90. where amazing creatures from belugas to sea lions live. Don’t miss Dr. Ballard’s deep-sea exploration center, Challenge of the Deep. Mystic Seaport, America’s 17-acre museum of the sea is next, where you can walk the decks of America’s only surviving wooden whaler. Then it’s downtown to Mystic Pizza, made famous by a movie of the same name. The children will love it. They’ll also like staying at a place with a pool, and will be much more patient when you browse the unique shops at Olde Mistick Village. Then it’s back to action with an afternoon sail on a schooner.
For a great night of excitement, you can’t beat NASCAR racing at nearby Waterford Speedbowl off Rte. 85.

Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration
There’s always something new to see and do. Discover the amazing creatures that call the Amazon their home in Wild Amazon, a new exhibit opening Spring, 2005. See the beluga whales and sea lions. Touch a ray in the Ray Touch Pool or take part in a contact program and get closer to the beluga whales or African Penguins (reservations recommended). Exhibits based on Dr. Robert Ballard’s expeditions; play Dinosaurs: Beyond Extinction!, an interactive program that is part movie, part game.
Mystic Seaport – The Museum of America and the Sea, is the nation’s leading maritime museum. Climb aboard historic tall ships, stroll through a re-created 19th-century coastal village, discover stars in the planetarium, see a working preservation shipyard in action, explore exhilarating exhibits, marvel at gardens, daily demonstrations of maritime trades.
