I am a 23 year old male that is relatively healthy “according to my doctor 4 months ago”
I do have some cholesterol and vitamin d problems but I have gotten those under control but while I realize that I am still relatively young that I am not immune to health problems so I want to start living more healthfully. The main problem is that I live on a pretty tight budget and by tight budget I mean money goes to rent-cheapest internet-heating-food no entertainment and my food budget is about $120 a month.

This leads to the main issue of trying to be healthy on a budget while not eating something that tastes like toilet chicken or some disgusting equivalent. This is exacerbated by most healthy internet recipes and foods I find saying something along the lines of “healthy food can taste good too” and then the subsequent recipes calls for saffron or some other ridiculously expensive seasoning or other expensive things. Either that or they are the equivalent of boil and stir for 24 hours under the full moon (aka I prefer something to cook under an hour)

On that note the things that I have discovered “allegedly” lead to good health
1.a glycemic load of 80 or less daily (27 per meal) reduced chance for diabetes
2.14 grams or less of fat for a healthier heart
3. salt below 2300mg – 1500mg when I reach middle age for less chance of high blood pressure
4. cholesterol of 26g a day less chance of stroke
5. saturated fat = bad more heart health

what my rules are
1. tastes good or at least edible
2. between 250g at the least or 500g of food at the most when it gets up to 500g of food I can’t eat that much
3. at least 2100 calories to maintain my weight which is healthy at this point
4. keep the cost at $120 a month or less or about 1.30 per meal
5. please don’t discuss my other cost or allocating more money to food I am doing my best as it is.
6. no spicy foods
7. I am allergic to red pepper flakes.
8. no health food store in my area

Any recipes or advice you can give that follows the health rules and my own would be greatly appreciated.

Also I like italian foods like spaghetti and pizza and mexican foods that aren’t spicy like burritos. I like all fruits except I always seem to have terrible luck and seem to buy fruits that are no longer that tasty.
