Idaho Substance Abuse Prevention Request for Funding Applications

Benchmark Research & Safety is pleased to announce the release of the State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2014 Substance Abuse Prevention Request for Funding Applications (RFA).

Benchmark is the statewide Substance Abuse Prevention Administrator for the Idaho Department of Health & Welfare (DHW) and the Idaho Office of Drug Policy.

We administer a limited fund for community-based, substance abuse prevention programs intended to make positive changes in the lives of Idaho’s citizens and communities.

FINAL DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF ELECTRONIC AND PAPER APPLICATIONS AT BENCHMARK’S  MOSCOW OFFICE

5:00 PM (PST), April 30, 2013 – No Exceptions will be made for late applications

THE SFY 2013 FUNDING APPLICATION IS CLOSED AS OF APRIL 30, 2013 – PLEASE CHECK BACK AFTER JULY 1, 2013 FOR FURTHER FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

  • March 29, 2013 – SFY 2014 Request for Funding Applications released
  • April 16, 2013 – First conference call for RFA questions (morning)
  • April 18, 2013 – Second conference call for RFA questions (afternoon)
  • April 30, 2013 – Complete funding applications due at Benchmark’s Moscow office
  • May 20 – May 31, 2013 – Benchmark prevention training webinars for Application Review Board members.
  • May 27 – June 7, 2013 – Application Review Boards meet with Benchmark to review & score regional application.
  • June 7, 2013 – Final cutoff for Application Review Board input.
  • June 10 – June 14, 2013 – BRS prevention team finalizes regional service plans.
  • June 14, 2013 – Funding Allocation Plans reviewed and announced.
  • June 17, 2013 and onward – SFY 2014 contracts and extension amendments prepared
  • July 1, 2013 and onward – SFY 2014 substance abuse prevention services begin!

REQUEST FOR FUNDING APPLICATIONS

There are two funding applications available. Please read the application descriptions carefully. Use of the wrong application will render your application non-compliant.

Direct Service Funding Application – This funding application is designed for agencies seeking funding to provide substance abuse prevention services directly to youth, families and other at-risk individuals of Idaho. All applicants will need to submit a complete funding application, as well as the usual required documentation.

The Direct Service RFA is split into two sections: Application Instructions and the Application Packet. You will need both to successfully apply for funding.

A Budget Excel Spreadsheet is available for Direct Service applicants and simplifies the budgeting process. Using the Budget Spreadsheet also greatly helps the people who make the funding decisions.

Coalition Funding Application – Coalitions applying for SFY 2014 funding should focus on efforts to change the shared environment and raise awareness of substance abuse issues at the community level.

The Coalition RFA is split into two sections: Coalition Application Instructions and the Coalition Application Packet. You will need both to successfully apply for funding.
