Forskolin is known to have multiple health benefits ranging from cardiovascular conditions to help for weight loss. The supplement’s active component is extracted from the root of Coleus forskohlii plant, a member of the mint herb family which originates from the tropical and subtropical areas of the continents Africa and Asia.
Required percentage to trigger its potency
The dosage may differ from brand to brand since for now there is no actual stipulated quantity of the extract which should be incorporated in the supplements where it is found. The most common quantity, however, is 10 to 20 percent of the forskolin extract and one should dose in accordance to the brand in use. The supplement can be taken in different milligram doses which it is found. It ranges from 5mg to 250 mg doses.
Forskolin dosage differs in relation to the application. It is important to note however that it is best taken 15 to 30 minutes before a meal. If for the reason of reducing body fat, a 250 mg dosage twice daily of 10 percent of the extract has been studied. This exact dosage has also been recommended for men who wish to increase their testosterone levels. Oral use of forskolin for the case of asthma was studied by administering 10 mg dosage of the 10 percent extract daily to the patients.
Whatever the use, however, follow recommended guidelines and don’t exceed 250 mg of the 20 percent extract daily. This dosage should not be exceeded, because doing so can cause effects such as cramps or diarrhoea.
