We physically couldn’t eat all the pieces of fruit in a glass of juice. Eat one piece of fruit instead. Google the amount of sugar in soft drinks, sports drinks and sodas. You’ll be horrified!! There is about 10 teaspoons of sugar in a can of cola.
Some fats are good in moderation and our body needs them. Omega-3 fats are essential to our bodies’ function.
Good fats are found in Olive oil, Avocados, Nuts, Seeds and Fatty Fish.
Bad “Trans” fats are found in Commercially Baked Goods (pies, cakes, donuts, muffins), Margarine, Fried foods, Packaged snacks and Pre-mixed Cake Mixes etc. Avoid these altogether.
There are other fats that fit in between so limit them to very occasional use.
Move more. Exercise boosts our metabolism and maintains our muscle strength and endurance. Exercise for a minimum of 30 minutes every day until it becomes a habit. Brisk walking is excellent exercise and can be done with a friend. Cycling and swimming are easy on the joints. If you enjoy company and classes try the gym. I’ve been dieting in a healthy, serious way for a little over a year now, and it’s worked out amazingly….I’m not longer’dieting’, but just eating healthy as you said you wish to do…anyway, there’s no secret in mine, just eating lean proteins, healthy fats (keep saturated below 10% of total calories), and plenty of complex carbs (veggies, whole grain, rice, whole wheat pasta, etc) , and of course the simple good carbs (fruits and fruit juices, etc)I stick to 25-30% protein, 50-55% carbs, and 20-25% fat on a daily basis, doesn’t have to be exact though if you just want to eat healthy and not be on a strict”diet”….feel free to endulge once in a while if you keep up this diet =)…the other thing is just to make sure you exercise reguarly, but eating right is most important good luck!
Not a single one.I know this won’t make me popular but I don’t consider Atkins all that bad. I use a similar version called the Anabolic diet (which, believe it or not, was developed for me and a group of bodybuilders by Mauro DiPasquale). When I am on it, I gain muscle, lose fat and I have my blood profiles monitored by an MD. My cholesterol always drops, the HDL rise, my triglyceride count improves, my blood pressure drops and I feel like a bull. I don’t follow it all the time because the diet is montonous.
chances are she probably has one she may not meet the qualifications for anorexia or bulimia but she could be EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified) which can become much more serious and turn into anorexia or bulimia . if you have an eating disorder you dont have to be underweight everyone has to start somewhere right? if she looks like she could us a vitamin id suggest asking her how many calories daily she averaging if she hesitates to answer then shes probably going to lie to make you think shes eating a regular amount if she says 1200 or 1500 she probably actually means 500-800 , telling her parents wont help a lot of adults dont understand it your friend should prbly get therapy or you could get her to talk to you and maybe even eat out with her make sure shes eating ATLEAST 1500 a day a 13 year old girl should be eating 2000 but if your friend has an eating disorder eating more then 1500 would make her freak out and when people with eating disorders freak out then they turn to puking…..i could keep going and goin and going but im gonna stop now.
Well me being a competitive bodybuilder, me and my friends at the gym always acknowledge diet as the most important aspect to bodybuilding. If you don’t eat properly then you wont get the results you want; for example if you are wanting to get ripped than you need to cut back on the calories and increase your protein intake.
